Ept london
Sábado, Outubro 10, 2009 07:28Hey everyone,
I just got back from ept london earlier today, had a really good time was a great place and really cool city, my first time being there. It was also pretty good pokerwise.A couple days after i got there i played the 1k 6max, which i came 6th in for 10.5k which i was pretty happy about, besides the fact that the structure for the end of the tournament pretty much made it a giant crapshoot which was kinda like bleh, but w.e its a side event so didnt really expect it to have the greatest structure in the world anyway.
A couple days later i played the main event.Live poker is so ridiculously easy, after sitting with the same people at a table for 8-12 hours a day you can pretty much tell exactly what they have all the time.I finished day 1 with 100k at 500/1k and was pretty happy. On day 2 i lost about 30k right away, and then kinda tightened up a little(had a kinda sick table, john juanda, noah boeken, scott fishman and a couple other solid players. From there i chipped up a ton and made a couple of sick calls and held a couple of hands and befor i knew it was up to 250k after about 3 levels. From there it only went downhill. We all know in poker sometimes things just start going bad and you LITERALLY cant win a hand and even playing tight just get in coolers/semi coolers a lot and just goes bad, and i knew it was happening to me unfortunately. So i lost from 250k down to 100k, and was still just like w.e didnt do anything wrong just playing. So i am playing pretty tight, open to 5800 in early position at 1200 2400, get 1 flatter in mid pos, everyone else folds.Flop is Q43 rainbow, obviously just a perfect flop.I make it 7900 into like 13k this guy straight jams for 90k.I think for like 30 seconds and realize, he cant have anything that beats me so i call and he ends up having 56.Turn A, river 7 and yea that was not very fun, going all the way to london england pretty much for 1 tournament, and losing after 20 hours like that just really isnt much fun at all.
So that was a brutal way to go out, but its poker and theres nothing you can do about it.after that i didnt play any more side events, but i played cash games at the victoria casino (such ridiculously easy games) and ended up making a lot so that kinda made up for the main event atleast a little. All in all it was just a really fun and succesful trip, but im happy to finally be home.Just about to go to bed, so gl to everyone and see you at the tables.
