So after almost a year and a half hiatus from poker (OK I admit I did play a couple of PokerNews freerolls and half a dozen Bike Rides on TonyG) I've decided to play a little online poker again. So far it's been going pretty well. I have a new attitude, and at the risk of sounding like I'm kissing up, I honestly have to credit TonyG for it. When I was in Australia for the inaugural Pokernews Cup in Oct. of 2007, I read something that Tony had written for the Aussie version of Bluff. At the time it confused the hell out of me, but luckily the next day I got to meet him at the welcome party and asked for clarification.

What he said in the interview, and I'm paraphrasing here, was something to the effect of, "I've been playing pretty well, and I can't worry about my results." My first thought was, "well, a lot of people do crack, so, no biggie." But, seriously folks, it kind of stuck with me. I thought, what an intersting statement, considering that was ALL I worried about. When I met him the next night, I put it to him, and he explained to me that if he was playing well, there were going to be certain things that were out of his control. Sometimes your money goes in good and you get creamed anyway. Although anyone who plays poker realizes this, I think it takes a certain mindset to truly BE OK WITH IT. It was shortly after returning home to Canada that I realized, I was not OK with it. I had become the type of player who bemoaned my every bad beat, and told anyone who would listen, that if my cards held up half the time I went in ahead, I'd have more money than, well, TONY G! So, I quit playing.

Anyway, to cut to the chase, I think the mindset of people who are affected by bad beats, goes outside of just their poker lives. I know in my life, I was getting a little too worked up over things out of my control. I have come to realize that if I try to put a positive spin on everything in my life, not only am I happier, but good things seem to come my way. So, I'll end by saying WATCH OUT (poker) WORLD, Kenny's found his ZEN!

Hi there. This has been a long time coming I guess to write a blog about myself on here. I have been a member for a couple of years and represented Pokernews at the inaugural Pokernews Cup in Melbourne Australia last fall. I am 39 years old and live in Prince Edward Island Canada. It is a small island with a small population. We are best known as a summer tourist destination. We have beautiful golf courses here that rival the best in the world.

I am a married father of 2 kids, a 5 year old girl Claire and a 3 year old boy Ryan. My family is my life, they mean everything to me, as everyone surely knows who met me in Australia. I've been married to my wife Brandi for 8 years and she is simply the best girl anyone could ever hope for. I can't believe she not only puts up with my crazy behavior, but actually thinks it's funny. We get along great and like to drink lots of red wine, play guitar, sing, and do lots of fun stuff with our kids. My friends all call me Kenny Cash as I can sing a wicked Johnny Cash tune when I'm having a few.

I have been playing poker for a long time. I started in High Scool in the 80's and continue to this day. As you can see from my profile pic I got to meet TonyG in Melbourne and that was a real treat. He's a great guy and he's doing a fantastic job with the site. He also has the greatest help in the world with the Pokernews staff. Everyone of them I met was great, and I sure partied lots with them.

Not much else to say really, I love my family, I love my life, and I love Pokernews!
