The Greatest Poker Hand of All Time
February 18, 2009For those that missed this years Aussie Millions, you once again missed one of the greatest stops on the international tour.
While there may have been less players for this years main event, the actual series was just as good if not better than previous years. During this years series, there was a million dollar buy-in cash game scheduled. Now this type of game doesn't exactly come together every day of the week. The lineup was debated for a few weeks, but in the end it was two players that would take their seat at the table...Patrick Antonius and Tom 'Durrrr' Dwan.
After a nice little $500K session, the boys lowered the buy-in for the mere mortal players in the the rest of the world to $200,000, and this meant the game would pick up a handfull of new hopefulls.
During this ring game, agruably Greatest Poker Hand in History was dealt. Check out this article to see if you agree with this statement, it is surely one to remember.

Texas Holdem Poker - Cheating in Tournaments
December 19, 2008So an interesting post recently came up on our site regarding cheating in tournaments.
A player started a thread claiming that while he was recently playing in a No Limit Texas Holdem Tournament at Star City in Sydney, he noticed players blatantly adding chips to their stacks during breaks.
You can see the whole thread here. Cheating thread on PokerNetwork.
While such a claim is easy to make in a public forum, what is not so easy to do is to bring it to the attention of the Tournament Director. Never should a player that sees such a thing occur in a tournament ignore such a thing, as they then become liable for the cheating themselves. It is the duty of every player in a tournament to protect all players and the integrity of the game at all times. This is clearly stated in the TDA Rules, in rule #12.
TDA RULE 12: "Players are obligated to protect the other players in the tournament at all times."
I hope that players out there playing Texas Hold'em realize the importance of maintaining the integrity of the game, and that it not just the dealers and the Tournament Director who should be responsible for policing this, but also it is their duty as well, perhaps even more so than anyone else.
