WSOP, NBA Playoffs
Czwartek, Czerwiec 04, 2009 13:10Hey Guys,
The 2009 WSOP has been underway for a week now and it has been very exciting to say the least. The pnews team is definitely doing an exceptional job with covering all the events. The 40K No Limit Hold’em event was completely stacked from top to bottom. The final table consisted of: Justin Bonomo, Issac Haxton, Greg Raymer, Alec Torreli, Noah Schwartz, Dani Stern, Lex Vuldhuis, Ted Forrest, and Vitaly Lunkin. If that’s not a stacked table I don’t know what is. I predicted Bonomo to win, but he busted out 5th. Vitaly Lunkin won the tournament and played very well. Go here for more details on the tournament http://www.pokernews.com/wsop/2009/event-2/
Phil Ivey is also at a final table today in the $2,500 No Limit Deuce to Seven Draw. I have a good feeling that he is going to win it today. The guy is just a complete beast and is def the most solid all around player in the world. Honestly, can you really bet against Phil Ivey at a final table? http://www.pokernews.com/wsop/2009/event-8/
With the WSOP going on, there hasn’t been much online action. I am wondering what the deal is with the “durrrr challenge” They have only have played 15,000 hands and still have 35,000 more to go. Right now my prediction of Patrik winning is looking good. He is up $447,000 on Tom, but there is still a long way to go. http://www.pokernews.com/news/2009/06/durrrr-chall enge-update-antonius-leads-by-447-000-after-15-665 5.htm
This past weekend I just watched the NBA playoff games and went to Anns(poker accountant) house on Saturday to grille out. She has probably the nicest house I have ever seen in my life, it is on Lake Lanier. I am not going to even go into all the details on why this is the greatest house ever, instead I will do a high stakes living of her house for you guys and I will post it in the next couple of weeks. As for the playoffs, I was hoping to see a Cavs/Lakers final since the media hyped it up so much. I was definitely looking forward to a Kobe/Lebron matchup, but oh well. I still think the Magic/Lakers final will be good though. I’ll take the Lakers in 5. I think Pau Gasol is one of the most underrated players in the league. The guy can do it all; good scorer, great defensive player, and frees up the other shooters.
I will be going out to Vegas the 25th of June to July 2nd. I am definitely looking forward to meeting the bloggers and establishing some new contacts. I am having dinner with Taylor Caby and will be doing an interview with him out there so that should be good. I’ll make sure to take some pics or get some crazy videos of prop bets with the players. Time to get back to work, best of luck to you guys at the tables!
