JJ Liu is no stranger to poker circuit events, and certainly not to the WSOP. She has a flamboyant presence as a dresser and a competitive player. Married to poker pro Dan Alspach, JJ has earned her own passage to several final tables on the WPT circuit and the WSOP.

JJ placed 18th for $31,781 out of 805 players in the $5K No Limit event #46. This is JJ’s first cash in this year’s WSOP. JJ has twelve total cashes at the World Series of Poker over her career. She most recently defended her title as WPT Ladies Night Champion at the Bike only weeks after having her third child. Among the most memorable appearances for JJ, one has to be the heads up match at the 2007 WPT Shooting Stars. JJ battled top poker pro Ted Forrest for the WPT title and took second place. Ted later commented that this match with JJ Liu was one of the toughest he had ever played.

JJ has been playing poker professionally for over twelve years and boasts life earnings over $1.7 million. She is currently ranked fifth on the women’s all time money list.
