ChipMeUp Features coming soon
July 21, 2009Thought i'd write a list of things we're working on so people know what we're up to. We know some users have felt neglected over the last month or two. We've been very busy with the WSOP but everyone's returning to their posts soon so we should have things fixed better.
FIRST PRIORITY:
Moderators
- ability for moderators to ban people in shoutbox, add "Tells", place members under "investigation" (but not ban members)
- we're in the process of approaching people to be moderators nowCMU Share purchases
- ability to buy shares with ChipMeUp $
- second phase will give the ability to guarantee stakes (but not winnings). We're not sure if this will be opt-in by the seller or the buyer, in which case a certain amount of a user's $ will be 'locked' until they play the eventStakeback
- we're looking into thisStrategy
- videos with strategy from some top prosPoints system
- we know we need a points system, suggestions on how this should work are welcome.OTHER:
Verified results
- jconnor wanted to do this, by having a 'bounty' of say 50c on each result - other members upload a screenshot and verify other people's results. By doing this we can make sure every result is accurate. Not many people liked this when he suggested it, so we need to think about it some more.Rebuy events
- we know this needs to be thought through morePokerNews Cup
- we're thinking if we can do anything for Australian PokerNews Cup in OctoberLeague
- we want to make the league even better, with long(er) term staking deals (say 20x tournaments etc)Forum
- we know it needs to be betterthanks guys,
jconnor

neuman eliminated
July 10, 2009Facing a lead bet from his opponent on a {7-Clubs} {6-Clubs} {4-Spades} flop, Scott Neumann moved all in for his remaining 71,000 from the button and was insta-called. Though Neumann held the lead on the flop with {Q-Clubs} {Q-Diamonds} against his opponent's {7-Diamonds} {9-Diamonds}, the turn came the {5-Clubs} and the river the {8-Spades} to make him a nine-high straight, snapping off Neuman's queens and eliminating him from the Main Event... though he didn't realize it at first.
"Oh, God it's a straight to his nine!" Neuman said, practically growling. Seizing a stack of chips in each hand, he slammed them into the middle of the table before walking away.

David Lewis, Scott Neuman, Andrew Barter, Dwayne Stacey, Ed Sevillano, Vinny Moscati, Richard En and Will Mitchell are all trying to make it through to day 2.
To track the progress of these players follow Pokernews Live reporting, or also track them on Team ChipMeUp chip counts
Team ChipMeUp Live Reporting - Day 1d
Rockets blast Cowboys

Ed Sevillano facing a raise and a re-raise in front of him, found himself in the fortunate position of looking down at pocket aces. Putting the 4th bet in, he found himself with one caller. The flop came J-9-9. He lead out for 4k and his opponent called. The turn brought another 9. Ed checked and his opponent shoved all in and he called with his aces, his opponent had Ks. Ed is now up to 49k ! Andrew Barter is up to 34k, everyone else is close to even.
Mitchell Lets One Go
Will Mitchell is a friendly young Australian who is a regular on ChipMeUp under the username "wrkngball".
Mitchell is thrilled to be a part of the WSOP Main Event, but after a bright start, he's just taken a small hit to be back below his starting stack. Will started off the day picking up a nice pot on 9-7-5 board, when he decided to push all in on the flop forcing his opponent to fold.
In a hand a little later, Mitchell raised under the gun and the fired bets of 1,800 on the flop and 2,900 on the turn, before checking the action over to his opponent on the river on a board of {K-Hearts}{9-Spades}{6-Hearts} {2-Diamonds}{9-Hearts}. His opponent moved all in for 10,275 and Mitchell was forced to let it go to slip down to 28,000 chips.
Lewis Chipped Down

On a board reading {9-Spades}{5-Diamonds}{6-Spade s}{9-Hearts}, Chip Me Up sponsored player David Lewis called an opponent's all in.
Lewis: {A-Diamonds}{9-Diamonds}
Opponent: {8-Diamonds}{7-Diamonds}Drawing to any ace, nine, six or five to take the lead, Lewis would miss everything when the {J-Clubs} fell on the river to see him slip to 12,700 in chips.
Other Counts
Scott Neuman has slipped to 18k after missing his straight flush draw. Dwayne Stacey was last seen on 27k.
Vinny Moscati Busts
Unfortunately we lost a Team ChipMeUp member as Vinny hit the rail. Will Finds a Way
Will Mitchell is earning some grins over at Table #2. And some chips.
The large crane on which is attached an ESPN camera was just now doing its majestic sweep of the room, capturing those establishing shots that often open a new show or segment. As the break was concluding, the camera eased its way over to Mitchell's table, and he took the opportunity to hold up a hand-made sign bearing an earnestly-penned plea:
"HOMELESS PLEASE FOLD."
Just after play resumed, Mitchell opened with a raise to 950 from the hijack seat. The player in the cutoff called, the others folded, and the flop came {7-Diamonds}{8-Spades}{6-Heart s}. Mitchell checked, his opponent bet 1,500, and Mitchell instantly called. Both checked the {7-Hearts} turn.
The river brought the {Q-Diamonds}. Mitchell quickly announced a bet of 3,000. His opponent, probably more influenced by the cards than Mitchell's sign, let it go.
Mitchell is at 44,000.
Comeback trail
David Lewis is leading the Team ChipMeUp comeback trail with a spirited fightback. Down
to 12k in level 3 he is now up to 47k! Andrew Barter picked up a small pot when he flopped
a full boat, unfortunately for him his opponent was holding squadush. Scott Neuman has picked
up a few small pots and is up to 21k after dropping as low as 12k.Dwayne Stacey who disapeared after moving tables, we have just learnt he is up to a
whopping 82k !The "Homeless Man" strikes again

Will Mitchell raised before the flop, got reraised, then called. The flop came ten-high, Mitchell bet 3,000, his opponent raised to 10,000, Mitchell shoved all in for about twice that, and his opponent let it go.
Mitchell showed his pocket tens as he dragged the pot. He's back up to 35,000 now.
