Good Times Coming

Looks like I have some good times coming up. Next weekend, my daughter has a bowling tournament near Biloxi. Already have a free room for Friday and Saturday nights at the Imperial Palace. Bowling in the afternoon then live poker all night. Cheers

2 weeks later she has another tourney near Tunica. Different casino but same plan. Devilish

Halloween, I have a business trip to Vegas. 3 days-2 nights and business is done by 5pm. Of course that leaves a good amount of time to hit the tables.

Depending on how I do at those 3, there's a poker tourney back at the IP that following week that I'd love to play in a couple of events at.

Sounds like a good month to me. Cha cha cha

Decided I'd give this site a try on a very limited basis. Deposited $25 (the minimum) just to see what I thought of the real money games. I'd already played a little bit of play money and a couple of freerolls and it was maniac city. But I figured with nothing at stake, most players go manic so I'd see how the real players were.

I played in a $5 tourney to start. (I know, too big for a $25 bankroll but just testing the waters here). I saw a total of 2 flops. I raised 3x BB with {A-Clubs} {A-Hearts} . BB went all in for about 60% of my stack. I called. He turns over {9-Hearts} {9-Diamonds} . Flop comes {9-Clubs} {6-Hearts} {4-Spades} . So I'm short stacked with about 400 in chips. 3 hands later I get {K-Clubs} {K-Hearts} . I raise 3x BB from UTG. Table folds around to BB who raises me all in with {Q-Spades} {Q-Hearts} . You know what happened next. He spiked a Q on the flop and I'm out.

Moved to a ring game. Short story...same luck.

On to another tourney. I played well until I had tripled up. I get {A-Diamonds} {Q-Spades} . Guy raises me all in. I had him 2 to 1 in chips and he shoved all in 2 hands ago with {J-Spades} so I figured I was probably good. He turned over {A-Clubs} {Q-Diamonds} so I figure a split is coming......until clubs give him a flush for the win. I'm back to where I started the tourney and the blinds are coming. I get {K-Spades} {K-Clubs} . Of course I push all in. BB calls with {7-Diamonds} {7-Clubs} . Flops him a 7 so bingo-bango, I'm done.

So now I sit with about $5 left. Don't think I'll be on this site much longer. Cha cha cha

Circuit Event Results

Well, I did pretty well in Tunica. Played in Event 2. Finished 10th. No bad beat story here. I played one hand poorly and it crippled me. My fault. My poor play.

I held {Q-Spades} {8-Hearts} on the SB. Short stack in BB. 2 bigstack callers preflop. Flop comes {Q-Diamonds} {6-Clubs} {4-Spades} . With the weak kicker, for some reason I checked. Everyone else checked with me. Turn comes {5-Diamonds} . NOW I bet. BB raises me and goes all in. Everyone folds around to me. I thought for a minute (should have been longer) and decide to call. BB turns over {5-Clubs} {5-Spades} for a set. Crap. If I had played the hand differently, I would have finished the tourney even better. Not sure if it was the 12 hours of play or what. Know better but did it anyway.
