Going Strong Day 3:

Well i took day two off kinda hung out a little. Played the WCOOP 2x reload qualifier on starts today, i had a good stack but due to circumstances beyond my control i had to force donk off my stack so i could make an appointment. I feel i could of gone deep if i did not have to leave. The first few levels sucked because of so many sit outs. I mad a good call against a guy(wasent even a hero call ) and the dude flipped out which was fun. But besides that at this point there are still 71 people left and i have to leave in 15 minutes so as i figured going out 200+ was probably a smart choice. Because if i was still in i would be really really upset that i could not try and finish it all out.

As for my other runs i finished up round two of the steps, so now i am at round three and seem to be running well i hit insane 3 hands in a row to take out 3 players in my round 2, lets hope that my luck carries over into round three. Its hard to think that i have played that much and i am still only half way there ( and by half way it really is 1/3).

I have been thinking about what would happen when i got to step six. As in the WSOP qualifyers the top online players just sit there and wreck people. So if i get there my real though was if it came down and i was in 5th place. Do you A) take the 1200, and run or go for the chance at 10M garunteed ( assume 2.5 for first place) either way i am getting ahead of myself. Just thoughts going through my mind.

As for my cash games i slipped up a little and sat at a .25 table with 20 bucks which i turned to 42 (i know i know i should not have slipped but i tilted a little bit), i got stacked at at 5 cent table for 5 bucks with a set of jacks beat by a set of kings, here and there. but i got that back plus a dollar from another table. Its funny that up a dollar seems like so much, but if you put it into a 1/2 cash game it is like being up 40 bucks. So i guess i mean i am doing what i said i would do and thinking about all my moves more. this is a good experience so far lets hope it goes well. See you out there.

Other posts from linkblaine Blog:

Day One

My Test of my Own Skill and Discipline

Day One

rough day, i did well at the .05 tables making 2 bucks each time i sat down, but boy it seems like so little after playing 1/2 for so long. As for my WCOOP both my tickets where lost, i sat down with some pretty good players in my round two. and one donk guy who was wrecking the table raising all in pre flop all with garbage and hitting every time. So its back to step one for me tonight, more girding it out. Hope tonight goes better or gets me back to round two at least.

Other posts from linkblaine Blog:

My Test of my Own Skill and Discipline

My Test of my Own Skill and Discipline

I have been playing poker a long time now; this is my first blog post on a site though so bare with me. I am a player who consistently plays above his bank roll, and needs serious work on their cash skills. I will be the first to admit that I am a tournament player. I do well in medium sized events, but tend to blow large chip stacks when I get that invincible feeling of not losing a hand in hours.
So that being said I started a blog to try and talk out my play so I can go back and look at what I am doing wrong as well as being opened to the criticism of others. Bring it on I like it.
First things first, I have a bankroll on stars that recently took a major hit dude to a set of set hand, where the player four flushed me in the end, but hey it happens.
Now for the challenge I put on myself. I currently have two tickets to the WCOOP Step 2 (yes I know two) but I decided if I am going to do this right I needed to have a backup. I am going to clime the steps and try to earn my way into the WCOOP main event on stars. I also have a reload entry ticket to the special event t his Saturday to direct qualify. I am challenging myself to put all my efforts into getting into the event, which means no more turbos to try and gain cash, no more 1 /2 tables. I will play as if my bankroll was $200 play only 5% of my bankroll and try to get 7.25 each time if I eat up my tickets to re-buy into step 1. Buy September I plan on having a entry into the event I will keep updated on my status and my play, you can find me at any time on stars if you want to watch or try to stop quest.
If I do not reach my goal of making the main event I will take it as a sign that my play style needs evaluated and start reworking how I play. Thanks to all who are reading and wish me luck.

See you at the tables—
