You want a character fight Haley? Next time dont show up unarmed.

Thursday, Сентябрь 10, 2009 09:45

The following is a response to a blog posted by Haley attacking my brother, Mickey, who reports for Pokernews and used to work for Haley. She oh so cleverly hid it as an attack on me, though she has never met me and everything she wrote/implied about me was grossly inaccurate. I will post a link to it just so there is a point of reference for my response.

http://www.haleyspokerblog.blogspot.com/

It is the second post titled "An Unintended WCOOP Tradition"

Haley,
Aren’t you a supposed member of the media? Or rather, you were when you worked for pokernews. Seeing your ethical character, I can’t say I’m surprised you are no longer there. There are too many mistakes and questionable actions to list, but I’ll start.

1) What gives you the right to reveal a person’s real name behind their screen name? Last I recall, you didn’t ask my permission. Using information you received as a member of the media for your own petty purpose is not only unethical, it's sad.

2) You might want to do a little research and actually get your information correct. Didn’t you say in an earlier blog, and I quote " It's my job to get the facts and report them". If the blog about me was anything reflective of your fact checking ability, I cringe at the thought of anything you have ever reported on. I am not "what is 7+6", I am "what is 7x6". Also, you are giving examples of “kids” who play NL and PLO and try to learn limit games. For starters, I am not a kid, I have been playing poker for 15 years. Second, I am a high stakes online limit player. I am, in fact, not a NL or PL player at all. Third, I won the 4k 8 game SCOOP and came in 6th in the 10k Horse Scoop. Put all these together, and using me (or who you thought was me) as your example is pathetic, and grossly inaccurate at best, it doesn’t remotely support your background of “kids” who play “NL and PLO” learning games for “HORSE” glory. In fact, it reeks of nothing more than a personal attack directed against my brother, who used to work for you at a Company you are no longer a part of and he remains. Pretty sad and transparent on your part.

Also, why would you criticize a person playing a tournament to learn games they don’t know well to begin with? Why do you find that amusing? Were you an expert the first time you played any form of poker? In fact, as I think about it, if I did want to learn a game I didn’t know, be it poker, gin or Old Maid, I would play it and practice, even if I was a poor player and risk the ridicule of a random condescending blogger for trying to learn a new game.

3) On that note, You might want to tone down the arrogant and condescending tone you put in your blog. Even if you are a strong player, condescension to one's opponents is pretty limiting (that is the first and last bit of poker advice I will give you, though you would do well to heed it). I don’t seem to recall any of your high level finishes or accomplishments, though. Perhaps you can direct me to them? Seems like you are just another low limit “expert” who likes to criticize others without ever taking a look at yourself. Even if you think you can intimidate a young hardworking earnest kid (you can’t) like my brother, you are way out of your league “picking” on me here. I invite you to come and show your superiority at the poker table in a horse game, if you still stand behind your inaccurate and attacking post.

Haley, I have never met you. After reading your post, you disgust me. You are transparent and petty. You are also sloppy and inaccurate. Do a little research please the next time you try and demean or belittle someone. You are insignificant to me and if you had gotten my name correct and left my brothers out of it, I wouldn’t have wasted the time to respond to a person such as yourself. But don’t waste your time trying to attack a person with the integrity and character of my brother, you are way out of your league, and in fact, you are fighting that fight unarmed.

Not to be picky but I am pretty sure that I knew your name before seeing this post and being directed to her blog. I want to say that you did an interview with Pokernews after winning the SCOOP event.

Anyway, seems like a pretty petty attack. BTW very well written and eloquent post.

Well played, sir.

True, pokernews has my name listed, but its not common knowledge. I am also not a professional player who people would be interested about or know about. Additionally, there is also a level of courtesy and professionalism about using a persons real name with their online name for public use. Haley clearly has no concept of either.

And ty for the well played. Like i said in my post, i coudlnt care less if i am attacked, especially by a low limit hack, but attack my brother in an transparent attack on me, and you can get my attention Smile

Lolsamighty. I like Mickey and think he's a good kid. I watched you continuously berate another player at the table when he played correctly and you made the crappy, overaggressive plays, and you kept it going as if you had some God-given right to do so. Talk about condescending.... You got called out 'cause I think you're a clown, and your name was indeed already in the public domain.

Oh, and Haley, you sure that was me berating someone? Or was it 7+6? Or was it some other name you want to attribute to me? Nothing you reported on was remotely accurate. Though you are right, i am most definitely a clown.

It never was an attack on Mickey. Most of the people who read my blog know Mickey, too, so for me to pretend you guys weren't related would be less than truthful; in fact, it might look -more- like some attack on Mickey if I didn't note that you guys are brothers.

Mickey's the best I've ever seen at covering a live table and getting the details fast and correct. As for you, I simply don't care.

Do you bother to comprehend anything you read. Here, ill spell it out for you. I am not 7+6. Whatever play and chat you attributed to me is not me. are you that dense? You attacked a random name and attirbuted it to me, never bothering to do any research about me. Had you done any work, you might have realized that the theme of your blog and who i am are inconsistent.

Im sorry to interrupt your delusions with Logic. But please, go on about how you needed to be honest that what is 7+6 is mickeys brother and his name is Elie.

In fact, generally when people realize they are compeltely wrong, they usually apologize. I know from your history that wont happen. BTW, i saw another pokerstars name be rude "SSj67dabut", i think you can use that chat, say its me, and point out how horrible i am.

Okay, Elie, I apologize. I just got my tournament hand histories via request from Stars, literally in the last three minutes, and it was indeed "7+6", not "7x6". I thought it was you, and it was not. I thought I had typoed it before I got the histories and verified my error.

I will adjust that blog accordingly, formal apology included. Your second paragraph above is wrong, but I forgive it as rightful anger. I -always- apologize when proven wrong.

People get fooled by imitation names all the time, and I was fooled here. There was a big story on ESPN about these things just a week or so ago, though talking about imitators on Facebook and MySpace and such. Modern times.
