PokerNews gives a warm welcome to the first member of our PokerNews Cup Alpine Team - Georgi Gochev from Plovdiv, Bulgaria. Coincidentally, Georgi happens to work for BG.PokerNews in between his time as a student and a local businessman. His journey with poker began three years ago because the game "looked interesting" and the possibility of financial gain was also a deciding factor. Now the Bulgarian mostly plays poker online with a preference for No Limit Texas Holdem. He admits winning this $8,000 PokerNews Cup Alpine package is his biggest success, but quips, "The real success will be in Austria!" (in reference to him taking down the championship). "It was a GREAT feeling" when Georgi won this package and admits he will start celebrating just before he leaves for Austria. Away from the tables, Georgi also enjoys football and all other types of sports. This will be his first experience at a major poker tournament and his first visit to Austria.
