Welcome Istvan Bagdi to Team PokerNews! Istvan will be flying all the way from Debrecen, Hungary to represent our Team at the 2008 PokerNews Cup Australia in Melbourne. The full time student started playing poker two and a half years ago after being introduced to the game by his friends. Now he mostly plays poker online with a preference for multi table tournaments. His favourite variant of poker is No Limit Texas Holdem. Winning a $5,000 PokerNews Cup Australia Freeroll is Istvan’s biggest poker success. “At first I couldn’t believe it,” explains Istvan. “It was 5 a.m. when I won… I woke up my girlfriend and we celebrated together.” When not working on improving his game play or studying, you can expect to find the Hungarian playing the guitar, attending concerts, playing badminton and indulging in his many other hobbies. This will be his first experience at a major poker tournament and his first visit to Australia.
