背後的故事

I played a lot of card games during my stint in the army...

Wim Broers has only been playing poker for six months and he has already managed to win himself a $12,500 Team PokerNews Freeroll. He started playing poker after being taught by his nephews on a recent family trip. Wim has always enjoyed playing cards and remembers his grandparents teaching him how to play ‘Jass’ when he was only 12 years old. He also admits to playing a lot of card games during his 14 month stint in the army. These days, the Dutchman mostly plays poker online but does enjoy the occasional home game with friends. His favourite varations include Pot Limit Omaha and No Limit Texas Holdem. Wim also has a preference for tournaments over ring games. He felt “very excited” when he won this $12,500 Team PokerNews Freeroll and celebrated by “kissing my wife and having some beers.” The retired farmer of 25 years has many other interests including “playing the acoustic guitar, history and collecting classic stamps.” This will be Wim’s first experience at a major poker tournament and his first time at the World Series. Good luck to Wim and the rest of Team PokerNews! As always, PokerNews.com will be there to give you the best and most comprehensive coverage at the 2008 World Series of Poker.
